Sister - Sr. Yvonne Channells
The Bishop of

Yvonne Channells is a member of the Sisters of Mercy Congregation in
the Lismore Diocese located in Grafton NSW Australia. She is currently
attached to, and greatly supported by, the Kenyan Province of the
Sisters of Mercy. Yvonne was originally brought into the Bethany House
project by Kenyan Provincial Leader Sr Hilary Finnigan. The current
provincial Leader is Sr Liz Fletcher, another wonderful Irish Sister
of Mercy. Nowadays there are also many young Kenyan Sisters of Mercy. During
a lifetime of service Sr. Yvonne has served in numerous roles
including those now listed below.
Taught in numerous
schools throughout Lismore Diocese as Teacher or Principal.
Served as Care
Co-ordinator in St. Catherine's Villa for the aged in Grafton NSW.
Taught at church
schools in Stanmore, in a suburb of Sydney NSW.
Served as part of
the Ministry Team within the Parish of Nambucca Valley.
One of the Ministry
Team serving in the Indigenous Missions of Balga W.A.
Part of the
Aboriginal Ministry Team working in the Parish of Nambucca Valley.
Representing the
Grafton based Sisters of Mercy in the Lodwar Diocese of Kenya.
Sister
Yvonne Channels is currently managing Bethany House
in the town of Lodwar, located in Turkana Province, Kenya.
